Terms of Use

How to use our website, how we handle information, and how to contact us about payments.

Draft for FPI review, not yet adopted. Legal entity, jurisdiction, payment relationship and refund rules require confirmation.

01 · Website terms

These terms cover the Feline Protectors International (FPI) website and its public information, reports and resources. Please use the website lawfully and respectfully. Do not interfere with its security, attempt unauthorized access, misuse forms, impersonate another person, or submit malicious or unlawful content.

Our resources are for general information and advocacy, not legal, medical or emergency advice. Information may change as evidence develops. We aim for accuracy but cannot guarantee that every item is complete, current or error-free, or that the website will always be available. Report suspected errors to us.

Links to external websites are provided for convenience. FPI does not control those websites; their terms and privacy practices apply. Nothing in these terms removes rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

02 · Privacy

Information we receive

When you subscribe, we receive your email address, the optional name you provide, and a record of your newsletter consent, including when and where it was given. If you contact us or submit a report, we receive the information you choose to provide. Please send only what is necessary, avoid unrelated personal information, and do not submit illegal material through a public form.

When you support FPI, payment services process your payment details. FPI’s payment integration receives transaction or subscription identifiers, payment status, amounts and payer details needed to administer support and receipts. Do not email card details or passwords to FPI.

How information is used and shared

We use information to respond to enquiries, assess reports, administer support, send requested updates, and protect the website from abuse. Our service providers include Google/Firebase for website hosting and backend services, Sender for newsletters and email services, and PayPal for payments. The reporting form uses Google-hosted services. Information needed for each service may be processed by that provider, including outside your country.

Reports may contain sensitive information. FPI may need to disclose relevant information to appropriate authorities or service providers to assess a report, respond to a lawful request or address a safety concern. Do not assume that a public form is an anonymous or confidential evidence channel; contact us first about sensitive submissions.

Retention, security and your choices

We seek to keep information only as long as needed for its purpose, appropriate records, dispute handling and applicable legal obligations. Access controls and technical safeguards help protect information, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. To request access, correction or deletion of your information, or raise a privacy concern, email info@felineprotectors.org. We may need to verify your identity. Some records may need to be retained; rights and available remedies depend on applicable law.

Before adoption: confirm the responsible legal entity, jurisdiction, applicable legal bases, retention schedule, international-transfer arrangements and any required privacy-authority contact.

03 · Newsletter

Submitting the newsletter form gives FPI permission to send newsletters and action emails to the address you provide. Sender manages these subscriptions. New subscribers must confirm their email address using the link in Sender’s confirmation email before becoming active for marketing. Signing up is optional and is separate from making a payment.

Each marketing email should provide an unsubscribe option. You can also contact us to stop these emails. Please subscribe only your own address. Previously unsubscribed or suppressed addresses are not automatically reactivated by the website form.

04 · Cookies and storage

The website uses browser storage for features such as sound preferences and temporary support-checkout information. Our backend also uses limited request information and hashed identifiers to restrict abusive newsletter submissions. Hosting and third-party services may process technical information such as IP addresses and browser details.

Embedded third-party services and external links, including Google services, PayPal and social platforms, have their own storage and privacy practices. You can manage browser storage through your browser settings; blocking it may affect some features. Any future non-essential tracking should be reviewed for appropriate notice and consent before activation.

05 · Payments

Support payments may be one-time or recurring, as shown at checkout. Review the amount, currency, frequency and recipient before authorizing payment. Currency conversion or other charges may be applied by your payment provider.

FPI’s current checkout identifies IAORA Payment Service Provider as the payment recipient and uses PayPal as the third-party payment platform. PayPal’s terms apply to its services.

A payment confirmation does not by itself establish eligibility for a tax deduction. No tax-deductibility promise is made on this page.

06 · Refunds and cancellations

If a payment was duplicated, made in error, or you believe it was unauthorized, contact info@felineprotectors.org promptly, preferably within 30 days of the payment. Include the payment date, amount, transaction reference and payer email. Do not send full card or bank details.

FPI will review the request and coordinate with IAORA and PayPal where appropriate. Other requests will be considered case by case. A refund is not guaranteed unless required by applicable law. Approved refunds should be returned through the original payment method where supported; processing time depends on the payment provider and bank.

You can cancel future recurring payments through your PayPal automatic-payment settings or contact FPI for assistance. Cancellation stops future charges once effective; it does not automatically refund earlier payments.

If you suspect unauthorized activity, contact PayPal or your payment provider promptly as well. This policy does not limit your statutory rights, PayPal dispute rights or applicable provider deadlines. The suggested 30-day contact period is not a waiver of those rights.

07 · Materials and copyright

FPI and the respective rights holders retain rights in their text, photographs, reports, logos and other materials. Use any download in accordance with the permission or license stated with it. If no permission is stated, contact FPI before reproducing or adapting material beyond uses permitted by law.

Do not alter material in a misleading way, remove attribution, imply FPI endorsement, or use it to harass or expose individuals. Third-party material may require separate permission. To report a copyright concern, identify the material, provide its URL and explain your rights or authority to act.

08 · Contact and changes

For website, privacy, accessibility, payment or policy enquiries, contact info@felineprotectors.org. If a page or form is inaccessible, tell us what you were trying to do so we can help.

FPI may update these policies as its services or obligations change. The adopted version should display its effective date and explain material changes where appropriate. Changes do not remove rights that already apply to a payment or personal-information request.
